… sentencing guidelines suggest a from eight to 14 months in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 7.

Back on June 25:

Former Bob’s Burgers voice actor Jay Johnston agreed today to plead guilty to federal charges stemming from his participation in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. The 55-year-old actor […] faces multiple charges including civil disorder and disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds.

Court documents said Johnston allegedly confronted Capitol Police directly and helped other rioters by handing out stolen police shields that were used to create a “shield wall” against authorities.

Johnston then participated in group assault on officers who were defending the lower west terrace tunnel before rejoining other rioters outside the tunnel in “pushing repeatedly against the defending officers,” the affidavit stated.

Yup, apprently a key part of the tunnel crush. This wasent just a “tourist trip.”

      Throw the book at him.

I feel like Jay Johnston never actually left the background of this 1996 Mr Show sketch about America First bigots.

(Also Bob Odenkirk in brown face definitely didn’t age well. Ohh the 90’s.)

I thought he was pretty good as the cop on The Sarah Silverman Program, too bad he’s an insurrectionist.

In case anyone’s curious, he voiced Bob’s rival Jimmy Pesto. He’s since been recast and they did a great job. I wouldn’t notice the difference if I weren’t looking for it.

From what I can tell from a quick look on the wiki, Johnston was fired after season 11, his last episode being season 11 episode 19, “Bridge Over Troubled Rudy,” after which the character was absent for several seasons, then recast as Eric Bauza in season 14 (which I believe is the most recent season at the moment), in particular season 14 episode 5, “Bully-ieve It or Not.”

          (edit: added specific episodes)

Shows how much I’ve been watching the show, despite liking it.

I had no idea Jimmy Pesto was absent. Did his kids disappear? Two of the kids were played by sarah silverman. And jimmy jr is voiced by H J Benjamin, who also voices Bob.

So I assume neither of them is going anywhere.

Nah, his kids have been around. It wasn’t a very conspicuous absence, he just hasn’t come up for a while. It’s easy to miss if you didn’t realize the VA had been fired.

Societally, is shunning still a reasonable approach for insurrectionists who for whatever reason seem like they will continue despite judgements leveled against them?

“Johnston, 55, could see a maximum sentence of five years in prison, but sentencing guidelines suggest a from eight to 14 months in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 7.”

Look at all those patriots with their trump flags attacking the capital. Wait a sec…

It’s literally a cult. Dumb brainwashed assholes gathered to attack our nation in the name of one of the worst people alive. Can’t get any cult-ier than that.

And yet the abomination of a human being is still allowed to run for presidency even though we all know he is a dumb, conman, traitor, piece of shit, child rapist cult leader.

I’ve been dying for this to be used somewhere.

When people say we should separate the artist from the art, I think of Jay Johnston. I do not want to support a fascist by purchasing art or entertainment they have created.

Employers should proactively inquire about one’s political leanings before hiring someone. Fascism, bigotry, racism, or other conservative ideologies should be disqualifying factors in employment. Period.

There is simply no room in a modern culture for hate-based ideologies like conservatism.

You surely see why this would be terrible, right?

        No, he’s clearly a moron.

It’s the big problem with both extremes, the right is obviously evil but the extreme left say stupid shit like that, call for burning people and extreme acts of violence or discrimination that they deem okay because it’s on the ‘enemy’.

The left has gone kinda right.

The above commenter called for employers to discriminate against applicants on the basis of their political views. I simply pointed out that’s a bad idea and you went off about “both extremes” and how the left has gone too far.

I’m so sick of this shit. Yes, the j6er is a moron, but removing worker protections against political discrimination is also a moronic response to this issue. Who here is being “extreme”?
