As a kid, like 9 years old, I wasn’t able to get a real Tamagotchi. I had a cheap knock-off version that had a little dog in it.
A bunch of my classmates were upset because their Tamagotchis ended up dying of neglect during the school day, but my fake-ass tamagotch has this weird bug where if you held down all the buttons at once it would freeze up and stay that way until you pushed something else.
So I basically had a Tamagotchi with a ‘pause’ function, that wouldn’t die when it was frozen.
My dog never died until the batteries finally ran out. Nice work, fake Tamagotchi :)

I had the koala one too! I knocked it off the bathroom counter while the toilet was flushing and it was gone before my eyes. 8 year old me cried more for that gigapet than lost relatives lol
This reminded me, I was so afraid of losing things in the toilet as a kid, even though it never even happened 😭

The creature started as an egg, then a small lizard, then dinosaur thing, then dragon. At which point it would fly away and you “won”. Then you just start over lol.

Never had Tomagatchi. I had Pocket Pikachu. That shit was the best! I still have it to this day and it works.
I had a Furby. It used to talk to me from my closet while I slept… Does that count?
Got my niece a Tamagotchi recently.
She lost it in two days.
