    100% a Christian country.

People are just largely in denial about what being a Christian means.

I equate it with cruelty these days. Christians voted Trump into power twice now, and they also cheered when Roe v Wade was overturned (leading to huge amounts of pain, suffering, and death for women.)

The grand majority of Christians are the antithesis of Jesus’ teachings.

The grand majority of Christians are the antithesis of Jesus’ teachings.

That’s the beauty of Christianity, though. You’ve got four different accounts and four different Jesuses. It’s a very ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ kind of deal.

" If tomorrow all the things were gone I worked for all my life And I had to start again With just my children and my wife I thank my lucky stars To be living here today 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom And they can’t take that away And I’m proud to be an American Where at least I know I’m free And I won’t forget the men who died Who gave that right to me And I’d gladly stand up next to you And defend Her still today 'Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A."

Knee-jerkers are down-voting this but I want everyone to know that this was blasting on every radio after 9/11 and it was awful.

I, as a child to very Conservative parents who was 11 when this song came out, loved this fucking song. This one, and the “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” song by Tony Keith. I felt sooooooo patriotic belting out “We’ll put a boot in yer ass, its the 'Murican way”. And these songs were EVERYWHERE. There was also “Where were you when the world stopped turning?”

Thank God my husband woke me tf up.

Even barring my hella conservative upbringing, the amount of attempted indoctrination from media alone is astounding.

Capitalizing on a tragedy is unfortunately a human truth we’re never going to fully beat, but it’s the blatant “America makes no mistakes and you better say that or you suck” that is so…especially egregious.

Choosing to sleep on the streets instead of in their house. Why won’t she just go home, to the home she obviously has and doesn’t use??

Well, there are such things are begging rings. And begging for money doesn’t mean you are homeless. But I have a hard time believe that anyone believes someone would choose to be smelly, dirty and cold to earn some pocket change.

However I did have a weird experience once. I was in the train in Berlin and a guy with a deformed leg was crawling in the train asking for money. His foot looked gruesomely twisted, it was weird. But then a few days later by coincidence I saw the exact same guy sitting normally in the same train line. So either there’s some weird business going on, of he begged enough money to fix his leg.

In Fresno we charge the unhoused a $1000 fine, which is more than a months worth of rent in a shitty studio.
