Yes, we need an elected head of state so we can elect an orange alt right dictator with unchecked power

Monarchists being absurd to defend a deplorable family that’s actively shielding a (alleged) pedophile sex trafficker.

Idgaf if the Windsors continue to exist as a bloodline, but they shouldn’t hold significant if unexercised powers, shouldn’t play any role or advocacy in politics, and shouldn’t be whinging about not having enough money to fund their property and land portfolio.

Can’t pay the bills? Oh no, I guess the public/National Trust can take ownership and maintain those building like all the other stately homes that went into administration decades ago.

Republicans being absurd to suggest we should elect 10x more deplorable people who are sex traffickers into their office.

Also, the Windsor’s will profit from their land and property instead of having to give the vast majority of that revenue to the government, as it currently stands

We could take countries like Finland as an example and keep the power in the parliament. It would be very similar to how constitutional monarchies work, but without the monarchs.

I don’t know much about how Belgian royalty behaves, but I argue it would be fair not to end this tradition until they fuck up. Royal allowances and costs of ceremonies etc aren’t that high if you consider the diplomatic weight royalties have in foreign countries, even more so in foreign monarchies.

One cant be democratic if the head of state is unelected and nobility still has influence!

Its always a weird reminder that there are still so many monarchies
