I don’t care about Ciri being the main character, I like her, but I read the books and I do care about them feeling the need to make the character a witcher when this isn’t the case in the books; she couldn’t be a witcher nor does she need to.
It’s not like I’m writing the game off, but it’s a significant departure from the books, which makes me cautious, and I feel like challenging people to “read the books,” is a bit disingenuous here.

Well regulated is an oxymoron. You cant give regulators control over the media under threat of them being compromised. Media must always be independent and democratic. Meaning all private media firms must be dismantled and only horizontally governed media collectives can be permitted. Meaning that all participants in a media outlet are equal and decide in qualified majority over their actions. Of course this doesnt mean independent journalists cant be a thing. Just not large, for profit corporations with hierarchies.
What’s to stop a horizontally governed media collective from being compromised and corrupted?
Nothing. Same as a hierarchical one. The chance of corrupting a democratically governed group is astronomically worse than a hierarchical one.
So wouldn’t it be better to have an independent regulator and a robust set of ethics and rules the media needs to adhere to?
Could be a bit of both, with examples of intersectionality provided by folks with those mindsets occasionally.
