It is indeed!
A tradeoff to their silent flight is that they are not near as water repellent as other birds.

It must take so much patience to capture a beautifully composited photo like this. You can’t just tell the owl to stay still and look at the camera…
You never know what these animals are going to do. They can be super finicky or paranoid, or they can just ignore everything and you never can tell from second to second what you’re going to get!
I’d like to see some blooper reals from some of these guys where they were so close to an amazing shot but something silly happens just at the last moment!
There’s a lot of attitude in that stare.
They’ve got the same attitude as the big ones, it’s just compressed into a smaller bird! 😁

You’re close! It is a mini sky tiger, but its range doesn’t quite cover Korea.
