• Not surprising at all, there’s been so many cop brutality incidents over the years. Off the top of my head, a cop broke the arm of an elderly woman with dementia and the cops laughed and joked about it. There was another case where the cops make a man crawl on floor before executing him. People don’t just become monsters overnight. They’ve been trained over the years to behave this way.

The police representative blandly spouting copaganda and saying how much the LAPD cares about safeguarding lives, while a protestor is currently getting hit with batons and run over by horses, is the most US thing I’ve ever seen.

Who would have thought the LAPD would commit such blatant police brutality? Oh wait, everyone.

If you ever wonder why police budgets are so over-inflated, it’s because an absurd number of their unqualified thugs get sued for shot like this, and they have to pay out huge amounts of compensation. You’d think they’d learn, but they won’t as long as they keep getting basically unlimited budgets and no real consequences.

I made an argument with one of my co-workers that I think that police unions should have to pay all legal bills and payouts for cops getting sued for violating rights. He responded “That’s a quick way to get rid of all police unions,” I had to stop and think if that would be a problem or not.

My point was the police unions are the only ones that can hold their members accountable. If they forced their members to act better instead of being thugs then things might change. If Police unions don’t hold themselves accountable then no one will.

Under Capitalism, the police can only ever be the millitant arm of the bourgeoisie directed against the proletariat. ACAB has value as a phrase because the police only serve Capital. As long as Capital is dominant over humanity, rather than the inverse, police will be used primarily against the working class.

No, the legal lawsuit payouts don’t come from the cops, their insurance, or their pensions. The taxpayers foot the bill for the lawsuits by losing money from their city’s funds.

looking at how even the horses are disobeying being forced to harm people - we can conclude that calling cops animals is not appropriate - ghouls and psychopaths seems more adequate but don’t let me stop you from listing all other fitting names you can think of:

The only good cops are horses and dog.

EDIT: Guys, I know police dogs attack people. They are trained to do so from birth. I don’t blame the dogs.

Idk. Police dogs are brutal. They’re regularly sicced onto black and Latino people to maul em and if they try to defend themselves they’re charged with assaulting an officer.

Dogs should at most be used to smell for bombs. The fact that they trust their owners so much that they’d be violent against whomever is precisely why the cops shouldn’t be allowed to have them, it’s animal abuse but even more importantly, it’s a huge vector for police brutality.

The dogs are brain washed to attack.

A regular person training this viciousness into a dog would be called out, if not arrested (depending on the animal cruelty laws).

Watched this live all day at work. So much of this shit went on. The whole thing with CHP trapped under the overpasses was set up to be a massacre, but the protestors didn’t kill them.

No commander in his right mind would trap their troops on low ground like that unless it was a sacrifice.

Not even escalate, just retaliate at the same level. The first part of the video isn’t what will get played on or matter to the viewers of fox news.

    • They’re hoping for bloodshed on the side of police or military, it’s their ticket to ride. They can do whatever they want once they establish the civilian populace as a threat to military personnel. These guys are little more than sacrificial pawns as far as the administration is concerned, they’re hoping that at least one of them meets a violent enough end so they can justify martial law and start unloading on every crowd of protesters.

The arming was (and remains) mainly about keeping the US settler garrison empowered to carry out indigenous eviction, and keeping non-white populations under control. Not protecting from a tyrannical government.

You can see that when those groups did try to arm themselves, such as the Black panthers or the American Indian Movement, laws were passed and repression carried out to disarm them.

Highly recommend reading Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz - Loaded, the disarming history of the second amendment for more on this. You can find the audiobook on torrents.

Thanks for the reading recomendation, will look into it. Yeah, times of crisis are really fast destroyers of lies, such as that the ruling classes would allow the ruled to arm against them. If the propaganda meltdown was in turbo mode after israel started the genocide, a civil conflict inside the us will give it a spaceship engine

You wouldn’t be alive to defend yourself in court. But not only that, US cops are extremely protected legally. If you put a hand on them that’s assaulting an officer and you’ll get prison time.

[Video] LA cops force their horses to run over protester

If anything, it’s US cops learning from the cossacks, whom tsar always send against people when police was not enough. Running over unarmed people with horses was their favourite tactics.

From 1917to 1922 between 7-12 million Russians, mostly civilians, were killed. This includes hundreds of thousands of Jews killed in pogroms (genocidal race riots). The Red Terror involved Bolsheviks conducting executions to wipeout political dissent and any threats to their power. The White Terror involved a collection of conservatives, monarchists, and proto-fascists executing communists and genociding Jews. This doesn’t count people who died in forced labor camps, which by some accounts saw a 10-20% fatality rate per month. There were mass rapes and looting wherever the several armies went. It’s been described to be as close to Hell on Earth as it gets. Between WWI and the Russian Civil War, the total population fell from around 170 million to 134 million.

In the mind of the USAian liberal, this is also because of Russia. Things used to be great, but now they’re bad because the foreigners are controlling the president.

          • In the minds of anyone with a passing understanding of Russian foreign policy can absolutely see they have their hooks in Trump and you would have to have a significant deficit in logical thinking skills to believe otherwise. That being said that only accounts for some of the war, violence, and agitation the USA is involved in.
