I’m technically gen x, but as time goes by, the more I realize I’ve always been a millennial in my soul.
As an adult, I’ve always related to people 5 years younger way easier than people 5 years older. I don’t know why.
Little inexplicable things like this just cinch it.
Do you have younger siblings? I ask because I’m the opposite. I was always the youngest- all of my siblings, cousins, and neighborhood playmates were older- and I still tend to relate to people a little older than I am better.
No, just me.
I had friends my age, of course; but when I entered the professional world, I clicked with folks a few years younger, and have since. I dunno why.
I relate to this as a gen-z with bad social anxiety

I just got a call while sleeping and woke up to late so I couldn’t answer, don’t know the number. They didn’t leave a message and now I can’t go back to sleep, even though I could have slept another two hours. Still debating whether I should call back the number…
You should not. If it’s a legitimate entity who needs something from you, they will call again, email, text, snail mail or knock on your door. If it’s a scammer they still probably will call again, but at least you won’t have marked your number as active.
In short, there’s no benefit to but some risk involved in calling back.
Funny enough posting this gave me the confidence to call them. It was a legit call but regarding sth. that already had been taken care of in the meantime.
Fair enough, good job getting it resolved.
