Greed has been allowed as common practice in our moral system for quite some time, but they doubled down on that “sin” to see what they could get away with. They could get away with a lot, so they went for lust to be made commonplace. As long as it was man-woman (or the occasional under aged girl if you were a friend of Epstien) that was no problem for US morals.
