Not really. Helicopters crash often, especially in terrible weather conditions, which was the case.
Especially if it’s a badly maintained Soviet era pile of junk.
It was a US made Bell 212
That would be Soviet era, and they’re likely not getting the US-made parts they need to properly maintain it.
