        Land doesn’t vote. Chicago easily outnumbers the population of the rest of the state. Illinois might be red without Chicago, but that doesn’t mean they’re the majority just because they are spread out over the remaining area.

        Its more than chicagoland and the vast majority of the populace. But yeah south of kankaee is sorta enclaves here and there.

        As someone who lives in St. Louis, holy fucking shit this is true. As soon as you get past the ruins of East St. Louis, it turns to trump world really quick

      To be fair that’s a symptom of the 2 party system. There’s just as many democrats that would see this as inane as there are ones that would support it. I think most people who would vote dem could agree we should have stricter control of when and how we share our data though; so you get a voter base that isn’t properly represented because they don’t have to be because they only have one choice among progressive voting lines.
