I think that Will Smith is pussy whipped by his wife and Scientology. I think she uses the church against him, with the threat that they will take his kids away and hide them from him. That’s the only explanation I have for his (slightly delayed) response with Chris Rock, and with Will being ok with his wife grooming their son’s underage friend and later having an open relationship with him on the side.
Personally, I wouldn’t call him pussy whipped, per se, as that sometimes implies that there are no functional relationships where men side with their wives. I would just say Will Smith is a pathetic servant to his horrible significant other.
I am on team Will Smith with this one. Never give a woman of color a hard time about her hair. I’d rather diffuse a bomb while in shark infested waters. I’ve been punk rock for 40+ years, had a mowhawk and other hairstyles outside of the norm (people used to want to fight you over this) and no demographic of human being has been more supportive when it comes to taking chances with fashion than black women. This is a hill I will die on
Walking on stage and physically assaulting someone? It was premeditated, he sat there and thought, then walked up and thought. It wasn’t just a heat of the moment thing.
I side with Chris Rock on this one.

Does it surprise me you don’t think Will is a boot licker? No sir it doesn’t.
I think you must have responded to the wrong comment, I clearly insulted him in my comment.
So brave. So bold
meh.
This is one situation where there is no “good guy”, in my view.
Chris Rock made fun of someone’s medical condition (the hair loss isn’t a fashion choice), and Will Smith overreacted.
I wonder what would have happened if she assaulted him instead of Will Smith.
Probably a whole lot less.
Will Smith laughed at the joke at first.

Nothing said verbally should warrant that.
He also laughed at the joke until he saw Jada was pissed.

(To be clear, I’m not saying you’re an idiot (and I’ve thought mowhawks were/are cool for decades). 😁🙂)
