These people do not deserve the death penalty. They deserve solitary for the rest of their pathetic lives, to die alone, scared. Just like the child they murdered.
I say this as a father of a non-verbal 4 year old.
What about an anechoic chamber where there is no light, no exgernal sound and all ambient noise is absorbed so there is no echo. You can literally hear your blood pumping.

Because it sounds like you are saying that a woman locking her 1 year old and her friends 3 year old autistic daughter in a room for hours whilst she smoked pot, who then found the 3 year old had vomited on herself and then poured scalding water on the child and then slammed her head against a bathtub, is not a real problem.
