Also, it frequently is associated with sleep disorders. Not just insomnia, as you’d think. Narcolepsy, Restless Leg Syndrome, Sleep Apnea, etc.

Seems like there is a strong correlation between those parts of the brain.

Associations of sleep disturbance with ADHD: implications for treatment

ADHD and Sleep Problems: How Are They Related?

Actually, I have an appointment with a neurologist for my excessive sleepiness next week. If anyone wants to know about it, I’ll report back.

Please report back. I have excessive sleepiness too, but also anxiety about going to doctors, so not sure if i can do it myself

I’m interested as well. I go entire nights without being able to close my eyes and the only response so far was to cut my adhd meds, thank you no thanks.

I bet you’d be like that if you didn’t take your ADHD meds anyway. People who say that don’t understand what it’s like.

Did you do a sleep study?

I haven’t done that yet. I’m fairly sure I don’t have sleep apnea, but maybe I’m wrong.

I did. I do have sleep apnea, but it is mild. Mild enough that they’re hoping that fixing my bite will make the apnea go away. (My bite causes other problems so that would be a big win for me.) They will prescribe a CPAP if it’s not enough.

I’m hoping I’ll respond to these treatments enough that we won’t need to dig any more, but I want to know just in case. It seems like I keep finding more information about how my brain working differently can make things more difficult for me, so I am always curious to read what others say about it.

I hope it helps and you get some good rest. I’ll follow up once I meet with the neurologist and share what I learn.
