I thought you could just install the missing bits to enable Gnome support of X, but that doesn’t seem to be the case:
Yeah, it won’t be compiled to utilize X so even if you install the bits on a Gnome desktop it won’t do much. Any flavor that needs X must add the requirement to their flavor seed as it is being dropped from the common seed that all desktops share.
