People in US would rather have a felon, rapist, and a geriatric old man as a president than a woman leading the way.

says a lot about the country as a whole.

It’s too late. The Republicans already have their story, inconvenient facts don’t matter. The people who care about its real origins aren’t the ones making laws.

Wuhan lab leak conspiracies are mainstream. 52 percent believe the virus came out of a lab, including 59 percent of Republicans and 52 percent of Democrats, while 28 percent said it was from an infected animal.

What those numbers tell me is the majority of democrats are just as stupid and chauvinist as Republicans.

The problem is bipartisan. We were fed anti-China propaganda by our media and government; this is the result.

The latest analysis, which has not been peer reviewed, includes data from the whole genomes of 56 new betacoronaviruses, the broad group to which SARS-CoV-2 belongs, as well as some partial sequences. All the viruses were collected between 2004 and 2021.

Still a developing story, so it’s not conclusion i guess.

Even if it was peer reviewed there’s no means to ensure the input is meritable. The sample set was determined by governance. The implied conclusions were predetermined.

Chinese culture places undue importance on saving face at all costs.

If this was at all true, it would have been put out in February 2020, not in December 2024

don’t act like you’d not have said the same shit then, as you do now.

if this was all true, it would have been put out in November 2019, when the first rumors started, not in February 2020

Yeah true, it would have been November 2019. I picked Feb because it was when things started getting out of control.

I blamed them then and decried how they suppressed evidence and news then, and I decry it now.

Lets also not forget that their “Sinovac” is actually “CanSinovac” as it was only possible for them to produce it at all thanks to Canadian lab work.

That’s cute, which of the several thousand recognized Chinese cultures did you marry into?

There isn’t a single unified one, anymore than theres a white culture or Indian culture.

Let’s put it a different way, I hear it’s just a part of black culture to show bravado at all times. Now if you correctly recognize that as a racist statement, you can recognize the your precious nonsense as the racist shit it is.

And marrying someone of a race doesn’t make you automatically not racist towards that race, you ‘i have a black friend’ excusing ass.

I mean, this is the time to investigate the standards of containment practices in viral research labs and start pointing fingers if they need to be pointed.

NOT when it was time to try to discredit the idea of vaccines.
