Seriously. Buying into western rhetoric is one of the stupidest things non-member nations can do.
They don’t realize that westerners only look out for their own interests. If you’re not part of their “in-group” then they will only use you for their gain.
Even if you are in the ‘in-group’ you still risk getting shanked if it so suits the big boys. it’s still the world of geopolitics anyway, there are no permanent allies or enemies between states, only interests. Even now US dumps the whole Russia-Ukraine stuff on Europe despite them being the major contributor/co-conspirators to the project. EU is also too stubborn or in too deep to get out of dodge, but still.
You act as if this is not the case for every country in the world, past and present with very few and temporary exceptions
Other nations don’t have the clout that the US has.

I saw news on this yesterday- pretty sure all of Zelenskyy’s political opponents unanimously made public statements saying they would not have an election before the end of the war.

None of those actually mention the vote in Ukrainian parliament, that is where the “unanimously” comes from 😇 I’ve looked through several sources and AJ English had it summarized the best 🤷♂️

Fair enough! While the vote isn’t mentioned in mine, they do talk about the opposition making public statements that they would refuse to run an election in wartime, which was enough in my mind for showing intent. I do appreciate the extra source.

Primarily that, yes. I appreciate the source of information, and if they are the ones reporting first- that is what it is, I just personally don’t read it if I can help it.
And it didn’t work. Zelinskyy’s opponents said fuck that and fuck you.
Once again libs will be taken by surprise when tHe tAnKiEs turn out to be right and Zelensky either gets with the program or gets acquainted with the wall.
