Many young men who can’t find a partner are getting radicalized by the manosphere.

Women are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Edit: this is calling out how women are criticized for both dating and not dating conservative men. Leave to to Lemmy’s male echo chamber to explain how this is not the case.

Just to clarify, are you blaming women for not having sex with these men?

The solution involves good healthcare, education, social safety, and respect. Men with no jobs, no role models, entitlement (particularly to relationships and/or sex), no apparent future, and bad mental health support are a recipe for disaster.

I should know as I used to tick a number of those boxes. I think, had I been younger when YouTube and stuff came around, I’d have fallen prey to far right conspiricies

Nope. You’ve got it the other way around. I’m blaming people for criticizing women’s dating preferences no matter if they date conservatives or not.

People blame women for refusing to date moderate to conservative men, hurting their egos, and funnelling them further into the alt-right pipeline.

People blame women for dating conservative men and affirming their conservative views.

It doesn’t matter what political preferences women have, there is just no winning here.

like, it doesn’t work that way. there should be a social contract saying “people take care of each other, that’s how society works”.

i get that you’re saying women shouldn’t despise men just for being men (and i could agree to that), but that doesn’t mean they have to accept any kind of bullshit. it’s good to stand against the right-wing sociopathy and reject relationships with these people. because ultimately, these people don’t take care of you either. right-wingers are often against basic human needs.

Double bed in the corner? Pillows with no covers? You matched with a child.

Oh yeah, and the Nazi pictures. That’s bad too.

Now I’ll be the first one to hate on organ thief Steve Jobs, but I don’t think he was a nazi, more of a hippy psycho cult leader.

I was talking about the posters of Nazis. I should’ve been more clear.

EDIT - To be perfectly clear. There are two pictures of Nazis, and one picture of someone who would have been a Nazi supporter if he didn’t prematurely die of hubris.

Yeah, Jobs wasn’t a Nazi, he was mostly an asshole that stole the surplus value from his employees and also credit for the work his employees did

I wondered if I was the only one who had this take. Mattress on the floor. Must be 18yo. I can cut them some slack cause I had the same at 18yo. And that explains the childlike hero-worship of jackasses (and I really like Steve Jobs as a product guy).

Were I a young woman, I wouldn’t consider this person safe to be alone with. Not because of the shitty bed. Because of the psychotic worship of shitty men.

We had a mattress on a homemade base for a while as parents in our 30s because our first child fell from the bed, which was pretty high as beds go.

So we built this frame on the floor so that our kid could get in and out of the bed with minimal effort, and if she fell, she would fall the height of the mattress.

Guys, I’m gonna set my room up with large pictures of Mr. House from New Vegas, Bob Page from Deus Ex, and uh… I dunno, Eldon Tyrell from Blade Runner.

Considering what Russia was like before and after the USSR, and considering that the Nazis threw everything at destroying the USSR and then the US put all it’s weight on strangling the USSR… Communism is actually kind of incredible in a lot of ways. It turned Russia from a shithole into a global super power and then it did the same for China

Yeah, not ragging on communism. I’m actually a huge fan of Marx, including his tidbit about an armed proletariat. But the country was considered “red” at the time.

Also, good on you for defending the system! I only wish you disparaged the leader a little. Cause, conceptually, the USSR would’ve lasted a whole lot longer if it wasn’t for that murderous prick.
