This implicit victim blaming isn’t welcome here. Take a break, and don’t let it happen here again.
This post was inspired by people defending the now-deceased emperor of one of the world’s most imperialist, authoritarian, and societally harmful Christian denominations
I’m glad he showed some baseline empathy for Palestine with his words, and I’m glad he didn’t think we LGBTQIA people should literally be imprisoned or executed, but he was still a bigot who netted a lot more harm for the world than he did good
Kind of the same way no American President isn’t also a war criminal, their personal convictions and actions notwithstanding. The position of the organization v the individual person.
The United States is a genocidal settler colonial project that should not exist
The Catholic church is a hateful religion that should not exist
As a Minnesotan, I am very confused. Like, yes, we obviously have the rural red parts of the state that exist everywhere in the country, but our government and institutions are actually quite LGBTQ+ positive and supportive.
Tell that to the trans people who get assaulted on a regular basis.
I just used Minnesota as a random example because I have family there, but come to think of it, it’s a pretty fucking bigoted state overall. The small towns in southern Minnesota make most of my state seem progressive by comparison.
Also home to wildly racist Tim Walz 🤮
I’ve seen people defend this, as well as this.
It’s really not hard to empathize “wait, what if I was in their position, what would I do?”
Yeah, I always roll my eyes deep into my skull when I see some asshole claiming the reason they used to be a Nazi is because the people they were oppressing weren’t nicies to them
Perfect example of such horseshit, thanks
Maybe “used to be” is giving too much benefit of the doubt
