the perception of time flying too fast
Sometime in the 90ies, when i upgraded my modem to 33600 baud and everything started to go lightning fast. You could download a whole megabyte in less than five minutes, on a good day. Mind-blowing!
Almost immediately. My roommates had our computers in the same room and we would regularly comment about the “magic clock” and how only 15 minutes ago it was 3 hours ago. Similarly, the “magic ashtray” that would go from empty to full in the course of 2 cigarettes.
