Yeah - if you take a look at YouTube, full playthroughs are ~30 minutes long. Speedruns have it at 13 minutes. There are 10 stages.

I’ve heard that Disney made the game harder to make it so you had to rent it multiple times.

No idea. It was just something I heard, like I said. I imagine that even if they don’t get a cut, they could market it to blockbuster as being designed for repeat rental.
EDIT: so I looked it up. They made it intentionally hard so you couldn’t finish it on a rental and would be more likely to buy the cartridge.
