I really dislike how some mods like to refer to rules by their number. It just makes things needlessly opaque, it’s part of the “You meet me where I’m at, because I am your superior” mindset. In this case it makes it kind of hard to even see what he’s claiming the issue is with this. Is it because it’s referring to mental illness in a sort of ableist way? Eh, maybe that’s a little bit legit. But that would be a different rule? Honestly, it just reads like dessalines lets his hamster wander around on the mod controls sometimes, or anything he takes personal offense to he likes to delete from the comments, and he takes personal offense very very easily.
It’s also the instance rule. Not the community rule. But yeah: They intrpret the rules how they please. Reminds me a bit of their idol: Stalin.

I get what you’re saying. I don’t really think we should call authoritarianism an illness, but what should we use when an extremist, like an antivaxxer, flat-earther or someone else actively denies reality?
And I don’t think mental illness is valued, and I think it is something that diminishes a person. It’s why we call it an illness.
I mean, you can use any other insult, there are plenty to choose from.You can call them vile, ignorant, close-minded, delusional.
It diminishes a person in the sense that it diminishes a person’s abilities. Not a person as a whole because people with mental illnesses are worth as much as any other person.

Disability doesn’t diminish your value as a person, it diminishes your physical, mental, or psychological abilities in specific ways.
Acknowledging that is true does not mean someone is valuable as a person
