This was in Cleveland, in the Mississippi Delta. For those who don’t know, the Mississippi Delta had some of the largest plantations in Mississippi and the racial and economic divide still very much holds up today. Plus Mississippi authorities are some of the most racist in the country, so no foul play my ass

Pretty sure if anybody is found hanging from a tree without a chair or something under them is foul play. A black person hanging from a tree with nothing under them is likely a lynching and a hate crime.
The family is seeking an independent autopsy. Do we know about how long that will take? Somehow, no matter the results, I doubt i’ll continue to see much about this specific incident in national news, and I’d like to remind myself to check back in on this.
