Yes it is an operation, yes it is a list - thats exactly why you’d sign up though, and accepting the risk that like any list, it could be exposed
The alternative would be to either miss relavent news, or hear from it from secondary (potentially corrupted) sources, or go through the effort of regularly checking the site unprompted
It’s less about signing up for a newsletter and more about the strike having a critical mass of commitment from people to allow it to kick off. If no one signs up, there will never be a strike.

You don’t need to give anyone your name or email address to join a strike. You can get news without giving that information
i wonder what the balance is consider that some of the no kings marches want you to register with more than just some random email address.
