This video starting at 19:22 discusses them. The title of the video kinda gives away a bit about them.
Pacrat173@lemmy.worldOPMto OpenChristian@lemmy.ca•Pope Leo XIV accepts LGBTQ inclusion in Catholic ChurchEnglish3·17 days agoAs much as I hate to say it, personal opinions of the time and politics of the time were big influences in the church in the past, even more than today. We’re a lot more accepting as a society today than we were in the past. I hope the church makes the right choice and keeps on its path of improving its relations with LGBTQ community and keeps to the word of love thy neighbor because its felt like it’s been forgotten at times.
Pacrat173@lemmy.worldOPMto OpenChristian@lemmy.ca•Pope Leo XIV accepts LGBTQ inclusion in Catholic ChurchEnglish6·17 days agoThe church have altered their policies before.
The Middle Ages saw indulgences being sold, and only a few decades ago were ideas like evolution more widely accepted within the church.
While today the church itself still has the same policy on homosexuality, Pope Francis started reforms on being more accepting and supportive of the LGBTQ community, supporting civil unions, allowing gay preachers to continue to preach, etc.
Pope Leo XIV is seemingly continuing this gradual change in attitude towards the community towards a more positive light.
Only time will tell what happens next, but I hope they continue to move with the times.
Pacrat173@lemmy.worldOPMto OpenChristian@lemmy.ca•Pope Leo XIV accepts LGBTQ inclusion in Catholic ChurchEnglish16·17 days agoI’m personally not a Catholic and I know they’ve done harm to many people before but the pope is an important figure in the religious world. Even steps as small as this can help many many people.
No person should have to go through something like this. I know more is needed but I will hold the families in my prayers
Thanks!

Acutis‘ 2 were
“Acutis was first beatified in 2020 after a Brazilian boy with a pancreatic defect was cured, following his mother’s prayers to Acutis to help her son. The second miracle involves the reported healing of a Costa Rican girl who suffered a serious head injury after falling off her bike in Florence: her mother prayed for the girl’s recovery at Acutis’ tomb in Assisi, and her daughter made a full recovery.”
Doing good just busy with life stuff but it’s going pretty good
I’m ashamed to share a state with these so called Christians
Thou shalt not steal ring a bell?
And love thy neighbor
And oh so many more.

I was thinking Matrix but it’s kinda hit and miss and needs a app. I use Tesseract for modding. I’m I don’t think it works on Kbin is the problem.

Pacrat173@lemmy.worldOPMto OpenChristian@lemmy.ca•Conservative Christian Outraged by Woke Parts of the Bible Being Highlighted in RedEnglish4·1 month agoI think it would be great to have a way to help folks. Money stuff is always kind of a hassle cause of forms, paper work and making sure it actually goes where it’s saying and all that but I think it’s worth looking into with a good amount of review and oversight on the community’s part.
I’ve been on Lemmy for a while and mod a few different communities. On Lemmy communities especially smaller ones mods do the bulk of the posting. It’s like this on a majority of the internet most people don’t post but just lurk. I’d love to see more activity as well I’ve seen other people post every once in a while so here’s hoping we can keep growing as a community!
