For what it’s worth, Bush knew it was a roast. Roasting the president is a traditional part of the press correspondents’ dinner (or was, before paper-thin-orange-skin became president). Earlier in that very same dinner, Bush did a bit roasting himself with a Bush impersonator.
I’ve been mad about all of these raids, but something about them raiding Frisco elevated that (no pun intended). I love Frisco. I’ve only ever been in the summer, and it’s fucking idyllic. Get your DHS bullshit out of there, you assholes.
Our state is not some shining beacon of liberalism, but fucked by capitalism just like everywhere else.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but those aren’t contradictory. Liberalism is fucked by capitalism, right?
We know what facts he “misrepresented” because they already said it in the media months ago: they said if he had admitted he was a supporter of a terrorist organization they wouldn’t have given him a green card.
They’ve equated support for the Palestinian people in Gaza as support for Hamas, and Hamas is a terrorist organization, so by supporting the Palestinian people in Gaza, he’s supporting a terrorist organization. And he didn’t disclose that he is a supporter of terrorism in his green card form (because he isn’t).
And they can prove he’s a supporter of terrorism because he used the phrase “from the river to the sea,” which they interpret as meaning Israel should be wiped from the map, despite the existence of alternate interpretations.
If you loved 30 Rock as much as I did (which is a lot), you’ll like Kimmy Schmidt. I like 30 Rock more, but it’s still really funny.
If they did, I suspect they caught him via illegal methods. The story doesn’t add up.
It’s not meant to be legitimate. It’s a threat and demand for a bribe. “Kowtow or regulators will be on your ass for everything.”
It’s why Paramount settled and made CBS cancel Colbert, the FCC wouldn’t have let the Skydance merger happen otherwise.
I am fascinated by the idea. Why cassettes? At least vinyl is “lossless” on its first playback, but cassettes aren’t exactly high fidelity. Is it about the nostalgia? The vibe? The chonky, satisfying feel of the format?

with the end of moore’s law, it’s only a matter of time till ARM catches up performance-wise, and out-competes them on price.
I’m not so sure about that, at least in single-thread applications, but I’m also not sure it matters. When performance reaches a certain point the average consumer doesn’t really need more. And I think we’ve largely reached that point for the average consumer.
Is it possible to learn this power?
Literally just finished my first re-read last night.
N.K. Jemisin’s Broken Earth trilogy (beginning with The Fifth Season).
Also, Brandon Sanderson’s various Cosmere works, especially The Stormlight Archive (beginning with The Way of Kings) and the original Mistborn trilogy (beginning with The Final Empire).
“Nerdface” I have called it.
but there’s definitely something weird about the video
Sure. Recorded at 24fps and interpolated to 60fps. Lots of weird shit can happen with motion interpolation.
Or he was wearing “conservative gear” because he’s a right-winger angry about Charlie Kirk doing an about-face on the Epstein files.
Nonsense. That’s the sort of disinformation I see the right trying to spread to defend fascism.
“Democracy” is simply a form of government where the rule or power (kratos) derives from the people (demos). A form where representatives are elected to make decisions is called “representative democracy.”
A “republic” is a form of government that isn’t a monarchy.
We have a representative democratic republic. Our system has its serious flaws, but that doesn’t make it not a democracy.
