Proton @lemmy.world•Who the (heck) put ads in my proton passEnglish
8·2 months agoMy Pass desktop app (which shown an offer for Proton Duo) does not have such option. But the frequency of the popups does not bother me significantly and it is sometimes useful. I am Unlimited user.

Proton @lemmy.world•Proton Pass on Linux forgets settings and ask on every launch/startupEnglish
1·2 months ago#Issue no longer happens:
OP is here. I do not know why, but now several times Pass remembered my settings. I suspect that I have used password for the 1st time to login Pass app, before I remember only scanning a QR code from my other device. Maybe that prevented the issue described in leading original post.

2·2 months agoJust a wild guess, but does it use your system keyring for credential storage?
$ dpkg-deb -I proton-pass_1.32.6_amd64.deb|grep -E “key|xts|sec”

I have been starting Pass manually couple of minutes after booting, so this should not be the problem. I do not know why, but now several times Pass remembered my settings. I suspect that I have used password for the 1st time to login Pass app, before I remember only scanning a QR code from my other device.

F-Droid@lemmy.ml•Proton Pass app just landed in F-Droid
2·4 months agoSince F-droid lacks official Proton apps, I ended up using F-droid to install Obtainium app, which allows installing apps from Proton apk or official Proton Github and keeping it up-to-date from same source. I have used these links in Obtainium:
https://proton.me/download/DriveAndroid/ProtonDrive-Android.apk
https://github.com/ProtonMail/android-mail
https://github.com/ProtonVPN/android-app
Not found Pass, so I have Pass from a F-droid directly.

OF opinion: good not to be adicted to it or to anything actually.

Majority is using different OS, that is the fact, so do not blame them to prioritize other OS in many cases.
