Jobs under capitalism are just wage slavery/servitude. The “privileges” you are allowed will change with time or workers movements. But the relationship of exploitation hasn’t changed here. The level of control in the existing exploitative relationship is what is changing. It’s the relationship of capitalism evolving into what we call fascism.

Again, unless you have more statistics that’s not telling you anything about the demographic of the Republican convention on its own. It’s making the assumption that all conventions bring the same crowds by percentage. Republican conventions bring a uniquely larger crowd in the form of protests. Much larger than a Democrat convention (well, before the genocide).

Also, major cities have multiple conventions and events every weekend. Likely enough that the population related to any given Republican convention would likely only be a fraction of the total. Even for events as large as their Major ones like CPAC, etc.

I know many LGBTQ organizations align their events WITH the Republican conventions to bring in more support for protest.

So, again, there is just not enough statistics on it to conclude anything. Sorry, this really doesn’t matter. Republicans are still hypocrites and assholes. But my math autism just hates bad conclusions from insufficient statistics.

  • Grindr usage spikes during ANY major event like those. You could have a Lesbian (is Grindr just for men? I’m assuming it is else my example is not really working) conference and the usage would spike. It’s just the population of the city increasing due to the event. There are journalist, and countless people flying in that are their to support the event infrastructure that don’t actually belong to that events “group”. And, ya know, literally people driving/flying into the city, and staying in the city, to protest the event.

Sorry. I’m being autistic. There are definitely gay Republicans on Grindr. But it’s not really a useful statistic looked at in a vacuum.

  • I’m sorry, but, are you implying that they care if the reports are false or not? The fascist don’t even care if they hurt their own followers.

This information isn’t going to be used for anything on a large scale. They literally have control of all social media through their loyal oligarchs. This is nothing more than for uniting their followers in hate against anyone that might even slightly speak out against them. This is for the people doing the reporting. Not for the people actually being reported.

It’s a way to manufacture concent for the state suppression on speech and the state violence. Something that these fascist were handed the moment the blood started shooting out of kirks neck. The people they want to target were already on their list long before then though.

  • Been avoiding it because I don’t want to just cry. I literally cried during Superman when the little kid was raising the flag. Trying to stay quiet in the theater. It just reminded me of so much.

I know everything that’s in it. I’ve started 5/7 days of every week, for the last two years, listening to Amy Goodman (Democracy now) tell me what awful things happened the nights before.

I just avoid visuals now. After the call of the 9 year old in the car I don’t think anything beyond that is anything useful to “make me understand”. I don’t think it does anything but disable me for some time. The story of the pregnant women dead from an attack as the doctors tried to save her child. My wife was 7 months pregnant then.

I’m a stay at home parent with a kid right now. Lost my job at Microsoft because I spoke up about it’s support of genocide. I can get to a protest or picket line every couple weeks when my wife can watch our kid.

I just think for some of us that more witness of suffering is just disabling and no longer effective. Maybe I’ll watch it with my daughter someday. Gaza has defined a lot of my love and appreciation for her.

  • I can’t watch the clip right now. Is he actually saying this or this click bait and trump is being “sarcastic” or at least “tongue in cheek” about it?

Like, idk, I’m so tired if these “liberals pointing to things” articles. They don’t do anything but make people inactive in politics (or actual material resistance) feel good.

Like, seriously, even if he is “letting it slip” what the fuck does this matter?

Uh, haven’t you heard? Calling Nazis what they are is the ACTUAL thing that causes violence. It’s not the Nazis. They are just giving very “common sense” political views.

I wish this wasn’t what actual people in the media are saying but it is. I’m losing my mind listening to it. I need to read some Parenti or something to bring some sanity back to my head. I can’t keep listening to this media “debate”.

Because this is violence that is not acceptable to the ruling class. It is violence against the ruling class. The first grader is a child of the working class. That type of violence is what is “acceptable” to people like Charlie Kirk.

That’s what his famous quote about accepting a number of gun deaths every year actually means. He was never including himself in that context.

These people tell you what they believe. You just need the lense of class conflict to view their words through.

  • People are very focused on the blood gushing part. And I get that. But I can’t say I haven’t had that normalized by movies. It’s not that different.

The shocking thing about it to me is not the blood but his reaction. Movies do not capture the subtlety of watching the life leave from someone’s body so quickly. I think that’s what makes the blood so much more shocking.

I don’t watch this kind of stuff ever. I saw it on twitter by mistake. It was hard not to.

  • And your average kid in elementary school. Our society has successfully normalized violence literally against children. I feel like we’re not far away from “pedophiles really aren’t that bad actually” being said by our politicians.

And they want me to care about a fucking piece of shit like Charlie Kirk turning into a fountain of blood while no one else was hurt? Literally top 10 clean kills in history.

The only sympathy I feel is for people that had to feel the trauma of that event. No one there knew they were not also targets. The panic and fear they must have felt in that moment. That is my only sympathy for this situation.
