Bro do you think any other person giving the exact same speech as Hillary would be paid that kinda money? The banks aren’t paying her for her oratory chops. It’s influence purchasing. Be serious.

No, getting paid by bankers is ABSOLUTELY a problem. Or did you forget what the bankers leading up to 2008 after they got beneficial legislation passed that let them fuck up the markets?

Bankers buy politicians to let them fuck up the economy and drain more money from everyone else they can.

The people who eat the shitposts as fact and spread it around are officially worse than both candidates. They are just Russian bots.

Hillary and DWS stole DNC money and funneled it all to her campaign, and then rigged the nom on top with the superdelegates. If you don’t consider that stolen, maybe it is you who should also consider “being serious.”

Ah, yes, let’s completely ignore the part where superdelegates were used to give her the appearance of an insurmountable lead before a single vote was cast.

No part of that election was run fairly. Stop pretending it was.

While you’re at it, maybe address the part where her campaign actively promoted Trump in his primary as a pied piper. Hillary Clinton is uniquely and singularly responsible for Trump becoming president.

I’m also not the biggest Hillary fan, but she was uniquely positioned to be undeniably the most highly-qualified candidate for US President in history, having had experience as a US senator, First Lady, and Secretary of State…

So it’s not like she was a bad candidate (although I too would have preferred Bernie).

And hot take: what the DNC did to David Hogg is more overt that what they did to Bernie. I’m fucking done with this stupid party. Consider me radicalized.

Eh. Trump is very poorly qualified. Between the two main candidates in 2016, the choice was obvious. Policy aside, I still value competence as well.

Yes, I do want to see the democratic party shift left, work to repeal citizens united, all that. But I also think that actually being good at your job is important as well. If we elect a firebrand who’s radical, but who doesn’t know the constitution or how government works, then we risk just becoming Left MAGA (like MAGA but with guillotines). Which, ok, that would be an improvement over where we are now, but still.

Trump is absolutely poorly qualified, and terrible beyond that. I think fundamentally I believe more in politics and values than competence in navigating the systems of a white supremacist country.

With regards to a ‘left maga’ you say but still, but still what? If someone broke norms, rules, even laws in service of dismantling the prison industrial complex, jailed politicians in service of making right the genocide in Gaza, or instituted a state of emergency over climate change to align with the scientific consensus, would you argue that the norms of our country are more important?

Aside from anecdotal evidence, Snopes was unable to find any proof to corroborate this claim. We know that most major food labeling requirements occurred in the decades following Capone’s 1947 death. However, aside from infant formula, there is no requirement to label expiration dates in the U.S. All such labeling is done so voluntarily by food manufacturers.

        Corruption is fucking corruption.

Calling whataboutism and not cleaning your own house is precisely what leads to loss of trust and directly led to the first term of Trump. EDIT: Along with explicitly and blatantly breaking their own rules to give the primary to Hillary (This isn’t conjecture or theory. They’ve explicitly admitted this in court and justified it by saying they aren’t a public entity but a private organization and can cheat if they want. Funny how they’re a public institution when they get free federal funds, but private when applying their own rules)

Democrats being feckless cowards and refusing to prosecute Trump for emoluments violations during the first term, and then failing to prosecute Trump for fucking insurrection on day one of Bidens Administration is what led to Trump term 2.

They should be filibustering every single republican bill and denying every political appointment. Leadership should be stripping committee appointments and threatening primaries on turncoat dems. The entire party should as a singular unit be blocking everything they can. They should be aggressively promoting an alternative policy agenda with real tangible benefits for real people.

But they won’t do any of that. They’ll stand around cock-in-hand and wait for Schumer’s strategy of “give them everything they want” to payoff somehow (think trickledown) because the DNC is a corporation. We blame you for him. You understand that, right? In our eyes, he’s your guy.

Trying to make leftists feel bad about Trump doesn’t work. We believe (And have the fucking receipts) that it is the DNC’s (And the Clintons) corruption that is at fault that Trump is President. Again.

The Democratic Party died with Paul Wellstone.

If you’re a Qatari prince, $400m is trivial. If anyone would give a genuinely free jet, they would.

That being said, this one is not a gift. It’s manipulation. Stroke Trump’s ego and pretend you like him and he’ll do whatever you want, as long as you make him think it’s his idea.

Hillary is just jealous she has to hide and do it slowly for years whereas Trump doesn’t give a single fuck and do it the obnoxious way for 2 times more money.

Hillary was targeted by at least as much politically motivated investigations into her affairs as Trump got, and they all ended up going nowhere, whereas Trump got convicted of 37 felonies. But that doesn’t seem to stop MAGAts rushing to post “crooked Hillary” and make suspiciously vaguely worded accusations every time the opportunity arises.

Notice how they never actually go into detail, because doing so would then require them to show evidence, so it’s only ever “she was bought by the corporations” and “she knows all about corruption”.

I would really appreciate this twisted timeline we’re in featuring the Clintons openly acknowledging that they know how corruption works from experience as a way to derail the current corruption train that we’re all tied down in front of. The writers need to demonstrate that they haven’t completely lost the plot or I’m cancelling my subscription

She also received money (@ least a million) from Qatar while in office.

She failed to report it, admitted it after being called out. It was part of the ridiculous show that won him the election.

She’s the worst person to open her mouth about this, as she’s directly guilty and tried to hide it.

Not 400 million, but a direct comparison with Qatar can be made.

We don’t really need to talk about Trump’s corruption. We all know he’s corrupt and none of us are arguing about it.

But when the person who was so corrupt she couldn’t win an election against the orange buffoon starts inserting herself into the conversation, accounts like yours come out of the woodwork to defend her using stale 2016 rhetoric. If there are fake accounts here, I’m pretty sure it’s yours.

Truly, there is nothing like sitting in midwest america in trump land and being called a russian bot. @Sillyglow@lemmy.ca I realize a nuanced view is difficult for many.

Should I insult you before I finish replying?

Is posting a fact about the 2016 election, and Hillary Clinton somehow disinformation?

          https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2016/oct/16/mike-pence/did-qatar-promise-clinton-foundation-1-million-fiv/

My point was, that the turd is being a hypocrite, in that part of his campaign in 2016 was capitalizing on her errors in failing to report external country lobbying.

There’s strong evidence to point to Hillary being wrong here and very much the orange turd. Two things can be true.

I’m not trying to what about the facts.

Someone posted a screenshot of her top contributors.

I recently watched a video discussing the jet, which played clips of him arguing against her doing the same thing he’s defending. I looked into it and found https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2025/05/13/trump-plane-qatar-comments/

As I noted in my statement which you replied to - It’s not exactly the same, but comparable.

If anyone wonders why I would even try, please be aware of this adage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandolini's_law

Say what you want, her coronation as D candidate in 2015 over a much more popular Bernie Sanders led to a weak turnout by disenchanted D voters and Trump’s victory in 2016.

Whether she is a murderer/ felon or not, she can take her opinion and shove it

How about this for evidence? Taken from M1ch431 elsewhere in this thread

The original source is a verified, leaked email (dated April 23, 2015) from her 2016 campaign. The DNC plan was attached in the email and can be found here. The specific quote is from Salon.

Truth doesn’t have intentions, it simply is

Shit, imagine being like “yeah, it’s true she did all this, but I don’t care because the guy that told me was skeezy”
