Hanlon’s razor is almost completely arbitrary and should only be applied in a vacuum. It’s about giving people the benefit of the doubt, not many-billions-of-dollars corporations

I’m not sure that “feeling like it” and “gender euphoria” are all that distinct here but u do u
I probably shouldn’t answer for her but gender euphoria
On the other hand, jellyfin’s identify feature works better than plex’s did for me, and it lets you rename stuff very easily whereas Plex needed you to find the exact piece of media in a database.
My mom asked me to rip a set of weirdo bootleg tai chi DVDs years ago, back when I used Plex, but I couldn’t figure out how to get them to show up in the library because, again, weirdo bootleg media and I have no idea where she got them. But I switched to jellyfin last year and on a whim decided to mess with them, and getting them to show up in my jellyfin library was basically automatic
Edit, another fun example of fucking with Plex’s identify feature just came to mind. For some reason it kept deciding that random movies were actually some movie named “A Fish Called Wanda.” I’d never heard of it before, the movies it would misidentify were entirely random as far as I could tell, and no amount of fuckery would get it to identify the movie correctly. It would decide that, say, The Matrix was actually AFCW, I’d remove the files for The Matrix, and it would decide something else was AFCW. Eventually I got fed up and downloaded an actual copy of AFCW, but it still refused to play the correct files if I navigated to AFCW in my library. Never did figure that one out.
Sorry, actual cheese product
Oh, getting kicked even when you’re not cheating has definitely happened, it’s even happened to me. But that cheater was suspicious even before that shot, that one is just the one that sealed the deal for me. Using the direct hit is also part of the evidence! Projectile cheaters like using it because the rockets move faster so the cheat engine is more accurate against people who can airstrafe. also it was citadel (a new map, the good prefire airshot spots are far from clear) and they would have had to be randomly firing rockets up at the sky for no reason. I get owned plenty often, this was not that.
I was never at the top of the comp scene, but I’ve spent my fair share of time playing pugs against the best of the best and not even soooapymeister hits shots like that person was.
If their soul is somewhere else, then what the heck is the ghost?
I can only hope this affects TF2 as well. I used to play competitively and the line between cheater and god-tier is so blurry sometimes, especially with how hard it is to spectate now. The one and only time I was certain someone was cheating was when I tried to rocket jump around a corner and got killed by a prefired airshot from a direct hit, aka they couldn’t even see me when they fired and still hit me 50 feet in the air the same instant I came around the corner.
And of course their team wouldn’t kick em because people still think it’s impossible to cheat with projectiles :(
It’s also about flooding the zone. They’re not trying to push a cohesive narrative. They want to keep people confused about what’s happened so they disengage entirely.
oof, going back to games you couldn’t beat as a kid and then figuring out where you got stuck feels so good. not getting that dopamine must have sucked! usually game designers learn from their mistakes but it feels like the people who worked on metroid went with a “if it aint broke, dont fix it” mindset. only problem is, that shit IS broke!
I’ve heard the most recent games have some kind of radar, which is nice i guess? but feels like a bandaid over the real solution of designing the level to guide you where you need to go. at least have it give a hint! surely theyre capable of it! from super metroid, to fusion, to zero mission, to prime, they really just kept screwing that up for so long
The music is amazing, the art is gorgeous, I found most of the combat really fun… but I can almost guarantee you’ll need to look up a walkthrough at some point. Metroid is notorious for hiding really specific things you need to advance in nearly impossible-to-find spaces on these huge maps that you are constantly backtracking through anyway.
Rhode Island, Indiana, fucking Nevada. I wish I could just be impressed it managed to stick to only naming US states and that this crap wasn’t being touted as true AI.
Oh, he’s getting a paycheck. Of course it’s not direct, I’m sure it comes in many different forms, but just look at, say, the crypto scams he keeps pulling. Have no doubt that one of the keys there is Russian money propping up their value.
I don’t doubt he’s a pedophile, but at the end of the day, no matter what anyone releases, he can call it fake and 99% of his followers would happily move on. That would have been how it went even before generative AI was a big thing; now it’d be trivial for him to wiggle out of blackmail like that. Not even the current Epstein stuff has moved the needle significantly. And it never will.
I’m not saying the Russians don’t have a tape like that, but really there’s no way of knowing, and it wouldn’t matter anyway. Don’t forget, this is a guy who could shoot someone on 5th avenue in broad daylight and not lose any support. I don’t think it’s possible to reliably blackmail him. Trump lines up with fascists ideologically anyway, so it’s far easier to simply bribe him, to make him think you’re his friend, rather than trying to threaten him.
Hi FBI, I have great news! I’ve done extensive My Own Research and after carefully reviewing the footage, maps of the university, and consulting with the gods of psilocybin, I have concluded with a high degree of certainty that his neck just kinda did that. Hope this helps!
Yeah the only people getting played by Putin are the rest of the conservatives who aren’t getting a paycheck. And, I guess, the rest of us who have to deal with the consequences of their idiocy
Same, just started a few minutes ago across all my devices no matter where I connect to.
After letting my phone screw up the connection a few more times I finally managed to get the gist of the error message that would blink onto the screen: something about a certificate failing to auto renew
seems to be fixed this morning. not seeing any mention of last night’s issues anywhere else though. weird!
What’s wrong with “he likely did the thing?” To be accurate with the “allegedly,” you have to follow up with “oh but also a jury ruled against him multiple times.” That’s way longer! Leaving it completely unqualified, as the article does, is downright misleading
Either way, “allegedly” is the incorrect choice of words
lol sorry but you might regret marrying a straight man :(
especially after what i just said about not sharing!
Jesus fuck, listen to yourself. Same vibes as “I’m not racist, I just think you need help from white people before you can reach your full potential”
