It would need to be $1.05 now.
Have you ever tried to setup a development environment in Windows? Windows fucking sucks for development unless you’re committed to handing over wads of cash for a VS license, and even then it’s really only good if your okay using a bunch of proprietary MS stuff.

Steam@lemmy.ml•Valve's reported profit-per-head from Steam commissions is out there, and at $3.5 million per employee it makes Apple and Facebook look like a lemonade stand
17·4 months agoBefore steam, digital sales of games wasn’t really a thing outside of a few niche examples. The 30% cut was the same percentage that retail stores were taking.

News@lemmy.world•A big insurer backed off its plan to pay less for anesthesia. That’s bad.
12·11 months agoIt’s not useful to compare health insurance profit margins to other industries because the Federal Government requires that they spend 80% of all premium revenue on care. This is effectively a cap on profits and also creates an incentive for insurance companies to pay higher costs for care so they can make more profit.

14·1 year agoThis is incorrect, Republicans had total control after Trump’s win in 2016.
It barely works on Windows.
That being said I’ve tried this with with success in the past.
Damn, if you’re this stupid I understand why you’re scared of the machines.
No one in this thread is talking about or “defending” LLMs but you.

News@lemmy.world•Blood puddles, mold, tainted meat, bugs: Boar’s Head inspections are horrifying
8·1 year agoBoeing and Boar’s head are killing people because of incompetence and cost cutting. Chiquita and Nestle go out in the jungle and massacre people at regular intervals just because those people don’t want to be slaves and having to pay workers hurts the bottom line.
I put them in different categories.

News@lemmy.world•California's largest wildfire doubles in size to 164,000 acres, shows explosive growth
5·1 year agoQuite a few mutual insurance providers are struggling in places like California and Florida because they didn’t correctly price in the potential impacts of climate change. The main issue that mutual providers have is that their risk pools are much smaller and generally very regional. If your whole region is on fire then everyone is screwed.
Additionally, they are dependent on the same reinsurance providers that other for profit insurance providers are which is already more expensive for them because of the smaller risk pool.

I went with the Gerber Viper as the second best unit under $1000 but cheaper than the Toto. It’s so good I just ended up replacing my other toilets with the same model.
