Wow, I didn’t know posting a 4chan style “we are anonymous. expect us” letter was all it took to get credit for determining a presidential election.

Even if you didn’t read the article, the op helpfully included the first few lines, which say that although Honda had said they were studying rocket technology, they made no announcements about this launch until it had already occurred.
Is it pedantic when it means the difference between life and death?
I’m not saying I agree with someone open carrying at a protest. I’m saying if that’s all they’re doing it’s not appropriate to charge them with murder, when if they were only open carrying it would be the security officer who overreacted and shot an innocent bystander to death.
A situation we could have avoided if there were stricter gun controls, but there aren’t.
I just posted elsewhere, but in short, there’s no proof that Gamboa brandished a gun, and I’ve seen a video which looked like he was pointing the rifle downward. Not saying it can’t go the other way once more info comes out, but just like when you shouldn’t automatically take the police’s word when they shoot someone, we shouldn’t take the word of private security.
Helpful link, thank you
This gif isn’t loading on my phone, but supposedly it’s the same as a video I had seen earlier - it shows Gamboa walking towards the street but his rifle is pointed down. It also shows the yellow vested people pointing their guns toward him. If the gif also doesn’t work for you, scroll further up in the thread to at least see screenshots. The op of that thread, Chad Loder, has been commenting on this shooting a fair amount. https://bsky.app/profile/nope-notnow.bsky.social/post/3lrp7xsx3vs22

That’s not the law, or reality in America. It’s a regular occurrence at certain protests for people to open carry weapons. Not saying I would do it, but it’s not sufficient cause to shoot someone.
What I’m reading is that the guy with a rifle, Gamboa, has attended protests armed before. It looks like the peacekeeper thought he was a shooter, but there’s no evidence so far Gamboa did anything illegal.
You’re not the only person who does this, but this sort of comment adds nothing to the conversation.
Just because you already believe something or have heard of something before doesn’t mean that’s true for other people. Spreading knowledge inherently involves repetition.
And even if it were true that something is common knowledge, what good is it to say “I know that?” If the first comment was a waste of characters, then so is the follow up.
I do too. I think some people don’t understand it’s shortening “best regards” or “all my best” and instead think it’s saying “I’m the best”. At least that’s what one co-worker said to me. But I still use it.
I think you’re misunderstanding the argument. I haven’t seen people here saying that the study was incorrect so far as it goes, or that AI is equal to human intelligence. But it does seem like it has a kind of intelligence. “Glorified auto complete” doesn’t seem sufficient, because it has a completely different quality from any past tool. Supposing yes, on a technical level the software pieces together probability based on overtraining. Can we say with any precision how the human mind stores information and how it creates intelligence? Maybe we’re stumbling down the right path but need further innovations.
Agreed. We don’t seem to have a very cohesive idea of what human consciousness is or how it works.
Other people replied, but to rephrase: the USB will not work with a car, and there will never be an adapter that will allow it to.
Instead you need a way to send the audio from the ipod headphone jack into your car stereo. Something like this.
Hell yeah
I think arguing in the forums of my favorite band in high school (about topics completely unrelated to music) have made my written communication as an adult pretty good
To be fair, he did go around the house calling “Mom, Dad?” If he had a phone before assuming he had wished them away he would probably try texting.
Good god, can we focus on the situation in front of us?
I voted for Harris even though she wasn’t my preferred candidate, and many others did too. The much more significant problem would be people who voted for Trump, or didn’t vote at all. Bashing uncommitted voters doesn’t improve our situation.
If the administration doesn’t obey the courts we all need to be prepared to take more extreme measures.
He’s a shit show, but SpaceX is still doing great. They have more launches per year than any other company or country. While they’ve had multiple launches explode recently, that’s their newer larger rocket where they’re still working out kinks.
If they can’t get that into shape eventually it could be a problem for the company, but their smaller rocket has a great record, reusable, a fraction of the cost of any other launch provider. Right now they’re the only game in town for the U.S. getting to the ISS.
I’d love to see Musk ousted, and more importantly to see real competition from other private launch providers. But don’t let Musk hate color your view of reality.
